At
this point I would like to acknowledge the fingerings for these right
hand inversions. As you gain experience and involve yourself with more
and more musical scenarios, you will find a need to alter the standard
fingers I am about to present you with here. But for the most part, you
will find that these fingerings work best...Actually, there are only two basic sets of fingerings that we use to play the three inversions. Yes, two of these inversions are played in exactly the same fashion: Root Position and 2nd Inversion chords are best played using the THUMB, MIDDLE FINGER, and PINKIE FINGER (otherwise known as the 1, 3, and 5 fingers) 1st Inversion chords are best played using the THUMB, INDEX FINGER, and PINKIE FINGER (the 1, 2 and 5 fingers) ![]() ![]() As you can see, the only difference between these two sets of fingerings is that the index finger and middle finger "switch" depending on the position. Quite easy! |
